General Information
Panopto is a video platform that includes software for recording and live-streaming videos, a portal for storing and managing your videos, a search engine for finding content inside your videos, and interactive video players. Panopto is a great resource for recording lectures and supplemental video tutorials to improve student learning in and outside of the classroom and is available to active LSUA faculty and staff.
Panopto has fully replaced the previous media plugin for Moodle, VidGrid.
All prior videos from VidGrid will be available within Panopto by the start of the Fall 2023 semester.
Account Eligibility
Available To:
- Currently ACTIVE LSUA Faculty/Staff Members
- Recordings viewable to currently ENROLLED LSUA Students (via Moodle).
Getting Started
Panopto is available to both LSUA faculty and staff either through Moodle or the LSUA Panopto Web Portal.
Moodle Users will be able to take advantage of the tight integration provided by the Panopto Moodle Block, which provides direct delivery of recordings to your course, easy access to managing your videos, and easy management of viewers.
For instructors, this is the recommended method for using Panopto.
Non-Moodle users will use the LSUA Panopto Web Portal. lsua.hosted.panopto.com
The main differences in using the Panopto Web Portal instead of Moodle are no direct delivery of videos to your Moodle course and more management of viewers for your recordings.
