1. Accessing Shadow Health
Open your web browser and go to: https://shadowhealth.com
Click “Login” (top-right corner).
Enter your institution email and password.
If this is your first time, select “Register for a Student Account” and follow the prompts.
You may need your course invite link or access code provided by your instructor.
Once logged in, select your course from the dashboard.
2. System Requirements
✅ Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, or Edge (latest versions).
✅ A computer/laptop with reliable internet.
✅ Headset with microphone (some assignments use voice).
3. Navigating the Platform
Dashboard – Lists all assigned modules (e.g., Health History, Respiratory, Neurological).
Assignments – Click an assignment to launch the simulation.
Grades & Feedback – After completion, you can review your performance and instructor feedback.
4. Completing a Digital Clinical Experience
Launch the Assignment – Click the module name (e.g., Focused Exam: Cough).
Meet Your Patient – A virtual patient appears (ex: Tina Jones).
Patient Interview
Type your questions in the chat box (use natural language like “Do you have any allergies?”).
The patient will respond in real time.
Physical Assessment
Select the appropriate body system.
Perform inspection, palpation, auscultation, etc. (using on-screen tools).
Documentation
Record your findings in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) provided.
Submit
Once finished, click Submit Assignment.
You will see a performance summary and receive credit.
5. Tips for Success
Use clinical language in your questions (not casual conversation).
Explore different questioning styles (open-ended vs. closed).
Always complete Documentation – it counts toward your grade.
Review feedback reports after submission to identify areas for improvement.
